What’s worse is that most don’t actually teach you how to cook. If a cookbook just gives you a long ingredient list followed by an equally long process of steps that keep your nose buried in the book, it’s no good. That’s because you aren’t actually learning how to . Member Credits: Buy Member Credits during the first 10 days of the month for only $ each and redeem them for any book on the site.       Good recipes that interest me are number one. I also like good authoritative cultural information. One thing I've not seen mention: layout and readability. If I can't comfortably read the recipe, I won't cook from the book. That includes poor font choice, funky column widths, patterned backgrounds that obscure the text, etc.   You probably cook all the time so you have a good sense of whether a recipe would work by looking at it. I can do the same. I have read enough recipes that I know as well, but there are lots of things I haven’t tried — ex. a book on fermenting, or high end chef cooking, where I wouldn’t know.

The colored picture pages and quality of this book is unbelievable. This is a must recipe book and in my opinion the best out there. I have never seen or tasted anything like this. I usually drink my raw foods but I’ve been taking a recipe from the book at least three times a week so that I can try them all.   The good wife's cook book Item Preview remove-circle Share or Embed This Item.
